Chief Engineer Project Vijayak meets CEC, Hill Council, Leh  Discuss issues and status of ongoing works under Project Vijayak of the BRO in the region

Chief Engineer Project Vijayak of the Border Road Organization (BRO), Ashish Gambhir met and discussed various ongoing works in the district with Advocate Tashi Gyalson CEC, Hill Council, Leh on February 23 at Council Secretariat. 
 
Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk; Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor, and Executive Engineer, Project Vijayak, B. Kishan was present during the meeting.
 
Several issues were faced by Project Vijayak of the Border Road Organization with their ongoing works in Leh district, to which CEC Gyalson assured LAHDC Leh’s assistance in resolving the issues at the earliest. 
 
Chief Engineer, Project Vijayak was asked to survey and proposes the road connectivity from Nyerags to Sungru dho with a bridge at Sungru dho to Lingshed dho under the Nimo-Padum-Darcha road. He said that the road will be beneficial especially to the villagers of Skyumpata village. 
 
Chief Engineer, Project Vijayak assured to personally survey the routes soon. He also informed CEC Gyalson regarding the early opening of the Zojila pass for vehicular movement this year. 
 
Besides this, the meeting also discussed issues of local labour disengagement due to lack of communication, re-alignment of road connectivity between Khardong and Khalsar villages of Nubra, extension of Fangila bridge, progress on Hanu-Turtuk road, and Blacktopping of roads from Sumda to Hanupata Fotoksar under BRO.  
 
Taking note of the grievances, Chief Engineer, Project Vijayak, Ashish Gambhir, and Ex. Engineer, Project Vijayak, B Kishan assured their help in settling these issues and grievances at the earliest.
