Chandrakant Khaire visits Pangong Lake, addresses problem of the region

A Parliamentary Standing Committee of paper laid on the table and tourism, Chairman, Chandrakant Khaire alongwith other four MPs visited Pangong Lake on 5 July.

Being a border area the region has been deprived of proper basic facilities. In the era of communication and digital world, poor telecommunication facility is one of the major challenges faced by the local population. 

Konchok Stanzin, Chushul Constituency, Councillor, during the visit highlighted the main problems and demand of the region. He demanded erection of mobile tower  and the construction of Maan Merag road which was a long-pending demand of the people. 

Talking about the high influx of tourism in Pangong Lake he also highlighted the importance of infrastructure development and basic amenities facilities like waste management, garbage disposal, toilet facilities. 

The Councillor also highlighted the importance of tourist permit from Maan Merag to further unexplored Changthang area and the promotion of winter tourism in order to increase the scope of income generation and employment.
