CEO Ladakh reviews preparations for special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Khaltse
A meeting regarding preparations for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the Union Territory of Ladakh was held at the Administrative Conference Hall, Khaltse on March 7 under the chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer Rahul Sharma (IAS).
The meeting was attended by Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Delex Namgyal (JKAS), Election Naib Tehsildar Tsewang Dorjey, and AERO/Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse Mohd Sharif.
During the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer reviewed the arrangements and progress related to the revision of electoral rolls to ensure the inclusion of all eligible voters and the deletion of ineligible entries. Concerned officers were directed to work in close coordination and ensure that the revision process is conducted smoothly and transparently across all polling stations in the subdivision.
Tundup Thinles, President, Indian National Congress (Sham), Konchok Ishay, President, Bharatiya Janata Party (Sham), BLO supervisors, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and other concerned staff also attended the meeting. They were briefed about their roles and responsibilities during the revision process and instructed to carry out proper field verification to ensure that no eligible voter is left out.
The CEO emphasised the importance of maintaining accurate and updated electoral rolls to strengthen the democratic process. He also urged officials to create awareness among the public regarding voter registration, correction of entries, and other related services.
The meeting concluded with directions to all concerned officials to ensure the timely completion of activities related to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in the subdivision.
