Central heating plant inaugurated at sub-district hospital, Padum

To cater treatment needs in the hospital especially during winter months and boost healthcare service, Haji Anayat Ali, Chairman Legislative Council inaugurated Central Heating System worth ₹185 Lakh at Sub District Hospital, Padum, on November 3 in Zanskar.

On the occasion, the Chairman visited various blocks in the hospital, enquired welfare of patients and ascertained feedback about the treatment being provided to them.

Terming health sector as one of the most important sectors, Haji Anayat Ali, Chairman Legislative Council said that attention has been paid to upgrade the Medicare facilities at sub-district and other hospitals in the rural areas so as to ensure the delivery of facilities to the people at their doorsteps.

He said that efforts are being made to provide all latest health facilities to the people within the district so that they need not go outside for treatment.

Besides creating new infrastructure and modernizing the equipment, he stressed on giving equal attention to place qualified doctors and paramedics in the health institutions.

Later, he conducted an extensive visit to Lungnaq block and met a number of public delegations to have the first-hand appraisal of their grievances and issues.

Haji Anayat said that to provide better road connectivity to Zanskar valley work on the ₹4200 crores project NH301 connecting sub-region to Kargil is in full swing which is expected to be completed in 3 years time.

He further added that the completion of this project besides the completion of road link projects at Chaddar Road and Padum Darcha Road towards Leh and Himachal Pradesh will usher in a new era of unprecedented progress and development in the area. 

While underlining the efforts of the government to ease air connectivity to the far-flung areas of the state, the Chairman said that Pawan Hans helicopter service shall be started between Kargil and Padum this winter and the operation of this service between Padum and Srinagar and Leh is also being considered in view of the demand of the people.
