CEC, Leh discuss transmission line issues with Power Minister

A delegation led by the Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson met and discussed power transmission connectivity issues with Power Minister, GoI, Raj Kumar Singh on March 23.

The delegation requested him to tender the revised rates for the early completion of the Nubra transmission line to connect with the Northern Grid, approval to connect the Durbuk Block transmission line with the Northern Grid and the villages especially near the border areas that are still not connected with transmission lines.

The Power Minister was also informed about the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between LAHDC, Leh, and ONGC. CEC Leh also informed about the agreement signed between LAHDC, Leh and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), and National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC).

Taking note of the issues, the Power Minister assured to look into their demands and directed the concerned authorities to revise the required funds and execute the work on time before the start of the season. He also directed concerned secretaries to execute the projects on a war footing.  

Executive Councillor for Minority/Councillor Turtuk, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor; Councillor Panamik, Tsering Sangdup and BDC Chairman, Disket Nubra, Stanzin Gyatso accompanied CEC Gyalson.
