CEC Kargil thanks UT administration for safe evacuation of Ladakhi Students from Iran

Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Union Territory Administration of Ladakh, particularly Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, for their crucial support in facilitating the successful evacuation of MBBS students from UT Ladakh studying in Iran. The students have now safely returned home.

Dr. Akhoon also reassured the families of religious scholars and their dependents still in Iran that preparations for their safe evacuation are currently underway. He stated that the UT administration is maintaining continuous coordination with the Indian Embassy in Iran to ensure a smooth and timely process.

Transportation arrangements and accommodation facilities at Ladakh Bhawan have been made, if required, to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for the returnees.

The CEC urged the public to remain calm, stating that all necessary arrangements and support systems are in place. He further informed that he is in regular contact with  Sonam Chosdon, Deputy Resident Commissioner, and appreciated the active involvement of Member of Parliament Haji Hanifa Jan in the evacuation efforts.
