CEC, Kargil, takes up issues with Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti

To address the grievances and issues of Kargil district, CEC LAHDC Kargil Haji Mohammad Haneefa Jan met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti at Civil Secretariat Jammu on 20th April.

The Executive Councillor Zanskar Affairs and Agriculture LAHDC Kargil, Tsering Angdus was also present during the meeting.

The CEC submitted a written memorandum to the CM highlighting the various issues and demands, like inclusion of Kargil Town under AMRUT Scheme, enhancement of District Plan Ceiling, sanctioning of financial package to the District for completion of various developmental works/important projects, which are lying in a state of uncertainty due to paucity of funds under the schemes, construction of Multipurpose Indoor Stadium/Archery Stadium Kargil.  The construction of Indoor Stadiums at Block Headquarters, shifting of administrative control for snow clearance and maintenance work of Zojila Pass up to Sonamarg from Project Beacon to Project VIJAYAK, introduction of Civil Air Services at Kargil, establishment of Women’s Degree College at Kargil, adequate teaching staff and infrastructure at Govt Degree College Kargil, opening of Kargil-Skardu Road, development of Tourism in Kargil, Doctors at District Hospital Kargil and Primary Health Centers of Different Block Headquarters, improvement in poor performance of RGGVY (NHPC) in the District and cellular phone /Internet connectivity in Kargil.

On the request of Haji Haneefa Jan, the Chief Minister instructed Director General BRO to allow the Project VIJAYAK for the snow clearance work beyond Zero Point, for which immediate response from DG BRO was received.

For shifting the DIET building to Govt. Degree College Kargil, Chief Minister assured to issue directions for immediate transfer of the said building to Degree College Kargil.

Regarding development of Tourism in Kargil, Mehbooba Mufti assured to depute Director Tourism J&K to visit Kargil soon after the reopening of Zojila Pass.

The Chief Minister assured to fulfill all the issues in a phased manner and also assured to give full support to Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil to overcome the problem and issues of the district.

Later Haji Haneefa Jan and Executive Councilor Agriculture and Zanskar Affairs LAHDC Kargil, met with Haji Anayat Ali, Chairman J&K Legislative Council and Naeem Akhtar, Education Minister.
