CEC, Hill Council, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan took stock of the progress achieved on the construction of Kargil Boys Hostel at Channi Rama, Jammu on November 15.

It was informed that the construction on the library and roofing works of the project has been completed in a short period of time and the setting up of the library which was a long pending demand of students has already been completed, while the roofing works also stands completed.

He said that to equip all major institutions with modern libraries is the desire of the LG Ladakh, adding he said that for purchase of required books for the boy's hostel library in consultation with the concerned, provision of funds shall be kept in next year's budget. He further said that the library will also be provided with a high-speed internet connection and other allied facilities. 

Feroz Ahmed Khan also inquired from the concerned officers about the ongoing works of Girls Hostel at Sidhra Jammu about which he was informed that 90 percent of the works have been completed. The remaining works are going on in full swing, and the project is expected to be completed by March 2022.

It was further given out that all facilities including a library with a high-speed internet connection, badminton court, handball court, canteen, and other allied facilities will be made available at the Girls Hostel which can accommodate nearly 200 girl students.

The concerned officers were asked to accelerate the pace of work and ensure completion of all the remaining works by the first quarter of 2022 so that the hostel is made fully functional by the academic session 2022-2023.
