CEC, Kargil takes part in countdown event for Yoga day

As a countdown to International Yoga Day 2022, Education Department Kargil in collaboration with Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Leh organised a yoga session at Indira Gandhi Park, Baroo on June 2.

CEC, Hill Council, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan took part in the event. He appreciated the works and contribution of Bhikkhu Sanghasena toward social welfare, yoga, orphans care, and the functioning of the old age home.

He requested Sanghasena to provide his service in the Kargil district also for which he assured support. CEC Khan further assured to collaborate with the MIMC in working for the advancement of education and yoga in the district.

Bhikkhu Sanghasena said that yoga on this day or International Yoga Day is performed symbolically while yoga is something that should be performed in daily life to avail its benefits in one’s life.

He also read the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on yoga to the students and urged them to make yoga part of their daily life.

Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre as instructed by the Ministry of AYUSH has been nominated as one of the organizations of Pan India to commemorate the 100-day countdown to the 8th UN International Yoga Day to be held on June 21, 2022.

This year, the Government of India wishes to celebrate the 8th UN International Yoga Day and 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with much grandeur, reaching across the globe to over 25 crore individuals and more. In this regard, the Ministry of AYUSH is celebrating Yoga Day in the most iconic places in Ladakh to mark this year’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the most serene and beautiful place in India—Ladakh.
