CEC, Kargil, reviews damage caused by flood

CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan reviewing the damage caused by recent flash floods in different parts of the Kargil district.
Kargil :

CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan reviewed the damage caused by recent flash floods in different parts of the Kargil district during a meeting with the concerned officers on July 6. 

CEC sought an assessment of the damage caused by the recent flash floods and directed for immediate restoration of essential services in the affected areas.

Executive Councilor for Tourism, RD and Zanskar Affairs, LAHDC, Kargil Er Punchok Tashi; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Development, SDM Sankoo, Commanding Officer CDR 762 TF BRO, Executive Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control, Executive Engineer REWA, Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Kargil, Deputy Director Command Area Development Kargil were present during the meeting.

Regarding Achambur which has been affected by floods, SDM Sankoo informed the Nallah has been diverted while work is going on at Achambur and Budgam. 

CEC also directed all the Executive Engineers to work on protection bunds of Nala Trailing so that it would not overflow and save the flood-prone villages. He also directed for temporary restoration of irrigation canals so that farmers do not face any issues. He also directed to conduct a survey and explore the possibility of launching a permanent bridge which will ease the problem of slides in Stakpa and also the work should commence in this working season itself.

While constructing Stakpa Bridge, the BRO was directed to ensure the approach road in nearby villages and installations were connected.

The provision of guide bunds be incorporated in the design and the height of the bridge should cater for heavy boulders and mud slides passing under it. BRO was also directed to work on Sapi road from the Kanoor side.
