CEC, Feroz Khan reviews COVID-19 situation in Kargil Directs Health department to increase contact tracing, surveillance

CEC, Hill Council, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan reviewed the COVID-19 situation of Kargil district during a meeting with district officers on January 27 at Council Secretariat.

Detailed discussion and deliberations were held to restrict further upsurge of COVID-19 cases in the district. 

DC/CEO Santosh Sukhadeve directed CMO Kargil and other health officers to speed up contact tracing, surveillance, and focus on all public places. He directed CMO and District Surveillance Officer to propose setting up localized containment zones as per guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

CEC Khan urged the general public to follow the COVID-19 SOPs properly which includes wearing face masks, maintaining social distance, and avoiding unnecessary travel. He also said that fines shall be imposed upon people who don't follow COVID-19 SOPs in addition to action against the defaulters. He added that the local magistrate shall be on duty with the surveillance team.

Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure unvaccinated students shall not be allowed to attend classes in winter tuition/coaching centers from 31 January 2022. He said that the situation would be reviewed after a week and required actions shall be taken accordingly.
