CEC Dr. Jaffer pays homage to brave hearts on 76th Army Day

On the occasion of the 76th Army Day, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Chairman/CEC of LAHDC, Kargil, paid respects by laying wreaths at the memorial of Maha Vir Chakra Major BS Randhawa (4 Rajput) and Veer Chakra Major Vetri Nathan, VrC(P) (2/11 Gorkha Rifles) at 13620 Post Changila Top on January 15.

Accompanied by EC Aga Syed Mujtaba, EC Kacho Mohd Feroz, EC Zakir Hussain, ADC Kargil, ACR, and officials from the Army, including Brigadier Prateek Prashar, Commander HQ 121, Colonel Shanu Krishna, Commanding Officer 31 Punjab, and K.K Venkatraman, Deputy Commander HQ 121, CEC Dr. Jaffer honored the sacrifice of Army officers who laid down their lives in service to the nation.

During the visit, discussions were held regarding the potential of 13620 Post, locally known as Changila Post, as a tourist attraction. CEC Kargil expressed gratitude to the Army for opening the location as a selfie point for tourists. He emphasised that this attraction would not only draw tourists from across India but also contribute to the local economy.

Dr. Jaffer pledged to install 5 KV solar plants at the war memorial for the illumination of the National Flag. He proposed that the selfie point could be a unique tourist attraction, fostering patriotism and offering visitors insights into the Army's dedicated efforts to safeguard the nation.
