CEC directs Post Office Leh to airlift parcels through Army Aircraft

Airlifting of 15 tons of India Post parcels in Army aircraft from Delhi was directed during a meeting convened by Gyal P Wangyal, CEC, LAHDC, LEH and Tsering Sandup, Deputy Chairman with Zahur Ahmad Mir, Superintendent Post Office, Leh on February 15 at Council Secretariat.

The parcels meant for Leh was stuck in Delhi from past 15 days.

Issues of parcels meant of the Nubra region which are not received on time were also discussed. The parcel reaches Nubra after airlifting back from Leh to Chandigarh and from Chandigarh to Nubra in army aircraft, thus, wasting lots of time. 

Zahur Ahmad Mir was directed to dispatch the parcels in SRTC buses from Leh to Nubra.
