CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon handed over immediate compensation of ₹ 50,000 on November 6  to the family of the deceased girl who drowned in the flow of water released from the NHPC Chutak HEP barrage.

The compensation is provided by NHPC. CEC assured the kin of the deceased girl of every possible assistance by the LAHDC in taking care of the family. Aga Aainul Huda, Councilor Parkachik was also present.

The family member thanked the CEC for his sympathy and the efforts made by him to restrict such incidents in the future to save human lives.
