CEC assures good governance, no tolerance on corruption

A public convention was organized by BJP on 21 November at Pologround Leh. The public meet was held to give thanks to the public for the support and believe in the recent LAHDC election. 
Chief Executive Councillor, Dr Sonam Dawa, Member of Parliament Thupstan Chhewang, executive councilors, councilors, BJP party workers and many others guest was present on the occasion. 

While addressing the public, Thupstan Chhewang expresses his gratitude towards all the people for putting BJP in power.  Talking about the biggest agenda the UT status, he said, "UT is not possible if the special status of J&K is not revoked". He questioned the MLA’s Nawang Rigzin Jora and Deldan Namgyal about the raising of UT demand in the J&K assembly. He said, BJP never said they will get the UT status in Ladakh but have promised to strive for it. He also spoke on the importance of inclusion of Bhoti language in the 8th schedule of the constitution.

He appealed everyone to stay united and work collaboratively to keep LAHDC strong. He said the demand for UT was there and will always be there.

Dr Dawa said that there will be no tolerance for the corruption, ensures good governance and the development in all the sectors of the society. He appeals all the employees to be punctual and work dedicatedly, otherwise strict action will be taken against the one who fails to do so. 

He requested all the public to talk openly and freely about their grievances and working of the council at the council office. He ensures that every advice and issues will be worked upon.
Councillor, Gen Lobzang Nyantak, President Yuva Morcha Dorjay Angchuk,  Mahila Morcha member, Urgain Chodon,  BJP-Vice President- Nazir Ahmed and  Executive Member -Mohd. Hassan also spoke on the occasion.

The biggest agenda UT demand is somehow becoming the blame game show. The press release of the District Congress Committee, Leh, reads that the MP election is won on the plank of “Vote for BJP, UT for Ladakh”. DCC states that in the last 16 months, MP has failed to mention UT demand in the Lok Sabha. 
The released stressed that the two MLA’s will give every effort and support if the BJP moves the resolution of UT for Ladakh in J&K assembly, where the BJP & PDP coalition government is in the state. 

The day was also lighted up by the performance of musician and artist of Ladakh, including Padmashree Murup Namgyal, Dorjay Stakmo and many more.
