CEC and Dy Chairman review preparedness of health department, Nubra, in fight against COVID-19

A review meeting on the health services and preparedness of the health department, Nubra in combating COVID-19 pandemic was held on April 9 at Dak Bungalow, Diskit, Nubra.

The meeting was convened by Gyal P Wangyal, CEC along with Tsering Sadup, Deputy Chairman, Hill Council, Leh.

Gyal P Wangyal enquired about the health facilities and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including sanitizers, mask gloves, etc in the Sub District Hospital Diskit Nubra and other health centers of Nubra valley.

Dr. Tsewang Chorol, BMO Nubra informed that Nubra has enough medical stock at present and as per requirement additional stock will be procured. Also, measures being taken by the frontline health workers in the entire valley to combat COVID-19 were also briefed. 

Appreciating the preparedness of the health department, Nubra, Hill Council expressed happiness regarding the non-detection of COVID-19 cases in Nubra valley till date. They appreciated everyone involved directly or indirectly including general public who obeyed the advisory of district administration.   

Tsering Sandup appealed people of the Nubra region to follow locked down measures and social distancing religiously. He said that this will play a major role in containing the COVID-19.

He further added that the Hill Council will ensure the availability of essential services and commodities from time to time during the lockdown.

Later, CEC also inspected all the wards of the Sub District Hospital Diskit and assessed the arrangements.
