CBC's three day long outreach program concludes in Nyoma

Nyoma :

A three day long outreach program cum photo exhibition organised at Nyoma in Changthang region by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India concluded on August 25.

The programme organised on the theme of 9 Years: Seva,Sushasan aur Garib Kalyan was aimed to apprise the people about the developmental scenario in the country and the progress made in key sectors during the last nine years.

The photo exhibition setup at the Community Hall in Nyoma showcased information about Mission LiFE and G20 Presidency apart from other flagship programmes of the government.

Over the last three days various activities were organised for the community mobilisation and engagement of the local masses in order to educate them about different public welfare schemes of the government.

Experts from departments of ICDS, Agriculture and Health engaged the visitors and informed them about various schemes being implemented by the respective departments. Daily quizzes for students and fun activities for local women were organised during the three-day program.

Medical Officer, Dr. Farnaz Kausar interacted with the audience, mostly women and informed them about programs launched in the Health and family welfare sector. Dr. Farnaz also talked about common health issues and their remedies.

Earlier on the first day, SDM Nyoma, Jigmet Angchuk and CDPO Nyoma, Zarina Bano addressed the people. On the second day, Hashim Ali, Field Assistant from department of Agriculture delivered a lecture on organic farming and cold weather vegetable farming. He also gave a detailed presentation about agricultural schemes which are exclusively Ladakh specific.

Field Publicity Officer, Shahid Mohammad Lone thanked the Leh district administration, Sub Divisional Administration of Nyoma and the people of Nyoma for making the outreach program successful. He said that CBC is committed and duty bound to ensure that citizens are aware of their rights and responsibilities. He said the success of every program and welfare scheme depends on public awareness, and outreach programs are a way to make an informed citizen.
