Bootlegger held, 23 bottles of liquor seized in Puga

In its relentless efforts to combat the illegal sale of liquor in the district, Police Station Nyoma arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession on May 28.

On receiving credible information about the unlawful sale of liquor from a grocery shop in Puga, a police team from Police Station Nyoma conducted a raid at the shop owned by Jigmet Lundup S/o Morup Dorjay from Angkhong Puga. The team seized 23 bottles of Rum/Whisky 750ml each, which were being illicitly sold to innocent people and made them addicted.

The accused was arrested and the case was registered under FIR No. 06/23 at Police Station Nyoma. The investigation into the matter is underway.

District Police Leh emphasizes the importance of public cooperation in the fight against narcotics/drug peddling and the illegal sale of liquor. The community is urged to provide any relevant information to help save innocent lives from this menace
