Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary reviews progress of major road and bridge works in Nubra
Administrative Secretary, Public Works Department (PWD), UT Ladakh, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary, on June 29 chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of ongoing road and bridge projects being executed by the Roads & Buildings (R&B) wing in Nubra.
During the meeting, the Administrative Secretary reviewed the status of various projects and sought detailed updates on their physical and financial progress, completion timelines, upgradation works, pending liabilities, and key challenges affecting project execution.
Emphasizing the importance of timely and quality completion of works, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary directed Executive Engineers to prepare comprehensive project-wise details of works being executed under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), State Development Plan (SDP), State Sector CAPEX, and other departmental schemes.
He further instructed officers and officials to proactively address project-related issues through close coordination with the Deputy Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Magistrate to ensure smooth implementation of ongoing works.
The Administrative Secretary stressed prioritizing projects on a component-wise basis, especially those benefiting habitation areas, and directed that all ongoing projects be completed within the stipulated timelines. He also emphasized regular monitoring, effective coordination among field officers, and prompt resolution of site-specific challenges to accelerate project implementation.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Mukul Beniwal, IAS; Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nubra, Jigmet Rabtan, JKAS; SE PMGSY Ladakh; Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B and PMGSY); Assistant Engineers; Junior Engineers; and other concerned officials.
