Awareness plan on summary revision of electoral rolls held in Leh special

As a part of the ongoing Special Summary revision of Electoral Rolls in Leh district, an awareness rally among students was organised at DC office, Leh on October 27.

Avny Lavasa, Deputy Commissioner Leh flagged off the rally which was carried out through moti market and culminated at main market. The students of Boys and Girls Higher Secondary School Leh, NCC and NSS cadets participated in the rally.

Avny Lavasa said that students are the best messenger to create awareness in the general public about the importance of voting rights.

A special camp was held on October 29 at all polling stations of Leh district, DC Leh appealed citizens of Leh district to make the best use of the upcoming camp for addition, deletion, modification etc and stressed on students who are attaining the age of 18 as on 01-01-2018 to enroll their name in the electoral roll.

Udham Das Sharma, Incharge ACR, Leh sensitised people about the importance of electoral participation by eligible citizens in the federal government structure of India and educated people about the ongoing Special Summary revision in the district. 

A street play highlighting addition, deletion, correction and migration procedure in the EPIC rolls and the election process in Ladakh by the students of EJM College Leh was also showed in the market.
