Awareness camp on COVID-19 held in Leh Aims to impart precautionary measures among the local transporters

 Awareness camp on Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) was organised by the Transport Department in collaboration with Municipal Committee, Leh for the local transporter of Leh on March 19 at New Bus Station.

It aimed to impart precautionary measures and awareness about the Novel coronavirus among the local transporters.

Kunzes Angmo, Regional Transport Officer, Leh stressed on the preventive measures that can be taken up effectively and on time. She also encouraged the transporter to keep cleaning and sanitize all public transports in coordination with the Health Department and Municipal Committee, Leh.

She also educated the transporters regarding the various aspects of the Coronavirus infection along with the precautionary measures to prevent infection.

She further added that no standing of passengers in public transport shall be allowed and One-Seat-One-Passenger norm should be followed.               
                                                                                                              
To contain the spread of the Novel Corona Virus, Medical Inspectors also made the gathering aware of the precautions to be adopted and demonstrated cleaning/sanitizing of the vehicles.

President Mazda Union assured all support to fight against the rapid spread of Coronavirus infection by following the guidelines laid by the UT Administration. 

He requested spraying machines and handwashing facilities at every bus stop.

During the awareness camp Executive Officer,MC Leh, Ravinder Razdan, ARTO Leh, President Mazda Union Association, officials of Transport Department and a large number of local transporters were also present.
