Army General Hospital, Leh, gets Intensive Care Unit

The Army General Hospital, Leh get a new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Accident and Emergency (A & E) department with modern equipment which was inaugurated on August 23 at Army General Hospital, Leh.

The PRO, Defence, Srinagar, said Army’s General Hospital in Leh has been providing high quality comprehensive medical and combat care to the gallant soldiers since 1960.  

He further added that the hospital has treated operational casualties, mass casualty or civil disasters like “Leh Cloud Burst” offering the best medical care to the troops, families and civil populace, hence living up to its reputation of the “Highest Multispecialty hospital of the world”.

A need was felt to augment the critical care services, hence the pan to modernise the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Accident and Emergency (A & E) department was conceptualised and conceived by the Lt Gen PJS Pannu, Fire & Fury Corps Commander, he added.
