AIIMS super-specialist doctors to conduct medical camp in Kargil from September 26-30

17 super-specialist doctors from different departments of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi will be conducting a 5-day free medical camp in Kargil from September 26-30.

The medical camp is organised by Asoka Mission in collaboration with Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil.

Tashi Motup Kau, General Secretary, Asoka Mission requests all those who are interested in consulting the doctors to come at the aforementioned date and place.

In addition to the upcoming camp in Kargil, Asoka Mission will organize one more medical camp this year: a mega surgical camp in Leh from 9-15 October 2022 in which knee replacement, hip replacement and plastic surgeries will be performed.

Earlier in April 2022, Asoka Mission organized a mega super-specialty medical camp in Leh, in which 3500 patients were screened, more than 100 surgeries were performed, including 85 eye surgeries, and about 100 patients diagnosed with serious illnesses were referred for further treatment at AIIMS.

Asoka Mission is a nonprofit registered society founded in 1948 and headed by Venerable Lama Lobzang since 1975. The organization has been engaged for the last 4 decades in providing
charitable medical care to the people of Ladakh. As part of its medicare initiative, Asoka Mission facilitates patients suffering from complex or advanced diseases like cancer, neurological disorders, and cardiological diseases, to receive super-specialist treatment at AIIMS New Delhi. Focus is given to helping patients hailing from the remote areas of Ladakh or economically weak backgrounds. For the neediest patients, free accommodation is also provided on the premises of Asoka Mission in New Delhi.

Asoka Mission has been organizing free annual medical camps in Ladakh for 25 years with the help of super-specialist doctors from AIIMS. Thousands of patients have been screened free of
cost at these camps, and serious patients have received guidance for further treatment of their illnesses. Free medicines have also been distributed during the camps.
