Advisor reviews preparation of PMJVK plan for Ladakh

Advisor Ladakh, Umang Narula chaired a meeting of UT Level Committee (SLC) for implementation of the Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the welfare of minorities under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakaram (PMJVK) Scheme in the Union Territory of Ladakh, at the UT Secretariat on March 2.

Deputy Commissioner, Leh, and Kargil presented a detailed presentation on the proposals for their districts.
 
It was informed that nine blocks are identified in Ladakh namely Nyoma, Durbuk, Panamik, District Headquarters Leh, Kargil Headquarters, Chiktan, Shargole, Lungnak and Zanskar for implementation under PMJVKY.

Advisor Narula was informed that to ensure holistic development, 80% of the resources will be utilised for projects related to education, health, and skill development out of which 33-40% will be earmarked for the creation of facilities for women/girls.
 
He directed the officials that passive solar heating should be incorporated in all the buildings and that all the upcoming buildings should be accessible to differently-abled persons. 

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, Social & Tribal Welfare; Secretary with HLG, Secretary, Higher Education, and Skill Development; Deputy Commissioner /CEO Leh; Deputy Commissioner /CEO Kargil; Director, Social Welfare and Tribal Affairs; Director, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj; Member, PAGIR and Member, Kargil Development Project.
