Administrative Secretary IT chairs discussion on electronics manufacturing cluster in Ladakh

 A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Amit Sharma, Administrative Secretary, Information Technology Department, UT Ladakh,  to  deliberate upon the implementation strategy for the electronics manufacturing clusters (2.0) scheme, which is aimed at fostering innovation and economic growth in the Union Territory of Ladakh. The meeting took place in his office chamber’s VC hall in the Civil Secretariat on March 4. 

During the meeting, discussions were held on various crucial aspects of the success of the electronic manufacturing cluster 2.0 scheme, including the selection of the implementing agency and the identification of suitable land equipped with essential connectivity infrastructure.

Recognizing the importance of road connectivity for the smooth operation of manufacturing cluster, participants contributed insights to address challenges in  establishing electronics manufacturing clusters in Ladakh.

Secretary Amit Sharma emphasized the need for a proficient and dedicated agency led by SIDCO as the project implementation agency to ensure seamless co-ordination and efficient execution.

He emphasized the significance of leveraging initiatives like the electronics manufacturing clusters scheme 2.0 to stimulate local entrepreneurship and generate employment opportunities for sustainable development in the region.

The meeting concluded with a strategic roadmap for the scheme’s implementation and a decision to hold the next meeting soon under the chairmanship of Advisor to LG to make important decisions.

Participants expressed confidence regarding the collective resolve and concerted efforts to surmount challenges and realize the envisioned objectives.

The meeting was attended by Sonam Norbo, Senior Manager of SIDCO; Tashi Namgyal, Executive Engineer of SIDCO; Kumar Amit, IT Consultant; Skalzang Dawa, Project Manager of IT; Stanzin Angmo, Project Manager of IT; Sajad Hussain, Project Manager of IT, while Dr Safdar Ali, General Manager, Finance of SIDCO and Sanjeeta Hemraja, STPI attended virtually.
