Administration of UT, Ladakh launches the ‘Ladakh Food Security Scheme’

Ladakh Food Security Scheme was launched by UT administration on July 2. With the launch of this scheme, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) of the erstwhile State of J&K is discontinued.

 The scheme will benefit 6101AAY families of Ladakh in addition to 43,916 PHH & NPHH families, which were already covered under the MMSFES.

Under this scheme, beneficiaries of AAY will be provided 5kg of food grains per soul over and above the NFSA entitled scale of 35 kg per family, subject to the maximum of 50 kg (NFSA+LFSS) per family and PHH & NPHH beneficiary having a family size of 1 soul to 9 souls shall be provided 5kg of food grains per soul over and above NFSA scale subject to the maximum of 50 kg (NFSA+LFSS) per family.

The food grains to all the categories of beneficiaries covered under the Ladakh Food Security Scheme shall be provided at the same sale rate as provided to PHH & NPHH under the erstwhile J&K State MMSFES.
