ADGP urges caution on cyber security during Zangskar sub-division visit

Additional Director General of Police, Union Territory of Ladakh, SD Singh Jamwal accompanied by SSP Deachen Police Headquarters UT Ladakh visited Zanskar Sub Division on April 21.

SSP Kargil, Shree Raam R, SDM Zanskar Romil Singh Donk, Dy. SP DAR Kargil Stanzin Dorjay, Tehsildar Zanskar Mohd Hassan, and Station House Officer Zanskar welcomed the visitors at Zangla village. The President ZBA, ZGA, ZMA, Lambardar Association, and ZBYA also presented a traditional reception.

ADGP, SSP Kargil SSP PHQ UT Ladakh, SDM Zanskar and all other dignitaries expressed gratitude for organising the awareness camp on women empowerment, cyber fraud laws and new laws (BNS, BNSS, BSA) at tourist Dak Bungalow Padum organised by District Police Kargil, Ladakh, in which large numbers of students and general public participated.

During the address, the ADGP emphasised the importance for students to use their mobile devices cautiously in today's landscape of fraud and cybercrime. They urged awareness of mobile and internet functionalities.

Women Police Station, SIT Team cybercrime SHO Inspector Ladol informed the gathering about crimes against women, children and domestic violence and punishment under new laws.

Sub Inspector Tsering Dolkar enlightened both students and the general public about cyber fraud laws, including recent updates. Furthermore, she provided valuable guidance to safeguard their belongings from potential scams and frauds.

The UT DRF team also demonstrated how to save the life and other essentials during disaster situations like earthquakes, fire and other accidents. SSP Kargil and the President Zanskar Buddhist Association also spoke at the awareness camp.
