48 students from Ladakh to participate in India International Science Festival

48 students from UT Ladakh to participate in the India International Science Festival which will be held in Bhopal from 21st to 24th January 2023. 
 
Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson flagged off the team from Council Secretariat on January 20.
India International Science Festival is the initiative of the Ministry of science and technology and the Ministry of Earth Science of the Government of India in association with Vijnana Bharati which is a science movement with swadeshi spirit led by eminent scientists of the country. 

This year IISF at Bhopal is the eighth edition since its inception in 2015. The theme for IISF 2022 is “marching towards Amrit Kaal with Science, Technology, and Innovation” in line with India’s Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. 

CEC expressed happiness over the opportunity that the students from Ladakh are getting to participate in such events which have been possible only after the inception of Union Territory. He hoped that the students participating will perform their best and learn from the experience they will get at the occasion. 

Director School Education, Safdar Ali stated that the students don’t only participate but receive awards in the festival, and stressed the importance of giving them such platforms more often. He further added that such exposure tours have been very beneficial in building confidence among students specifically in STEM education.  

Executive Councillor, RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi; Executive Councillor for Agriculture, Stanzin Chospel; CEO Leh, SD Namgyal and other officials were present during the occasion.

Students participating showed full enthusiasm and excitement for the festival. They were thankful to the government for organizing such events and giving them the opportunity also. They were hopeful that such experiences will help in paving the way for their career.

Along with the students, 12 teachers and 2 coordinators are attending the festival representing UT of Ladakh.
