40-day tailoring training for unemployed women launched in Leh

The District Hub for Empowerment of Women, in collaboration with the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), has launched a 40-day tailoring training program for 35 unemployed women from Leh district.

This initiative is part of the skill development component under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, aimed at empowering women through vocational training and entrepreneurship. The primary objectives of the program are to:
•    Equip women with tailoring skills to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential
•    Promote economic independence and self-reliance among women
•    Support the goals of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme by advancing girls' education and empowerment

The training program, which commenced recently, will conclude on June 30, 2025. By the end of the course, participants will have learned to sew a variety of garments, including traditional dresses, suits, and salwars, thereby improving their chances of gaining employment or starting their own tailoring businesses.
