2nd Edition of Ladakh Education Fair held at GDC Kargil

GDC Kargil hosted the Second Edition of Ladakh Education Fair 2023 themed, ‘Empowering minds enriching futures’ on August 24.

Dr Amina Qari, Principal GDC Kargil gave the overview of of the programme, highlighted the importance of Ladakh Education Fair.

Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. S.K Mehta inaugurated the event as the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse was the guest of honour and the Director of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), S D Sudarsan, attended the event as a special guest.

The others who attended the event include the Principal GDC Kargil, Dr Amina Qari, Deputy Secretary, LAACL, Kargil, Nazir Hussain, DSWO Kargil, Professors, besides faculty members, students and other officers were present during the event.

Piloted by the NCC Cadets of the college, the guests visited the stall exhibition installed by various departments and educational institutions as well. Skill Competition Products, Apprenticeship help desk, Scholarship Schemes stall, Local Food Products, Local Handicrafts and handloom products and various other local items were the main attraction of visitors during the event. 

The first day of the fair started with a welcome address by the Principal GDC Kargil, Dr Amina Qari.

VC appreciated GDC Kargil for conducting the event with the theme EMPOWERING MINDS ENRICHING FUTURES. He said GDC Kargil is one of the best colleges in UT Ladakh. 

The VC advised the teachers to develop the scientific temper among the students. He also said that the exhibition of variety of products and programs will help in the overall development among the students. 

DC Kargil appreciated the principal  team of faculty for organising such an instructive and students oriented  programme and also appreciated students  participation 

their enthusiasm . He said the exhibition will provide exposure to students. 

He advised the students to take advantage of the exhibition and develop the skills among themselves. He also applauded the VC for his contribution in the development of higher education. 

Director C-DAC, SD Sudarsan also spoke on the occasion and shared his experiences with the participants. He said the technology is necessary to gear up the overall development.

Students from Higher Secondary level participated in the fair with great zeal and enthusiasm for exploring knowledge about the skill development. 

In the afternoon session, technical sessions, trainings and workshops were conducted in which students from various Higher Secondary Schools participated. 

These sessions were held on Agniveer Scheme, Career Counselling, schemes and services in Handloom sector, Entrepreneurship and Start-up supported by DIC, panel discussion, etc.
