18 more reports test negative for COVID-19

A total of 18 reports samples were received from NCDC New Delhi today on April 17 and all are tested negative for COVID-19.

Rigzin Samphel Commissioner/Secretary Health said, “Among the remaining, the result of the first samples of a positive case of COVID-19 patients of both Saboo and Sanjak villages in Ladakh has been tested negative. If their third sample will also test negative then both the patients will be discharged from their respective hospital. The earlier positive case of UT Ladakh was discharged from SNM hospital after his second consecutive tests report negative”.

Samphel stated that essential commodities consist of 8 tones of milk, 3.5 tones of eggs, 6 tones of chicken and 25 tons of vegetable were brought form Chandigarh and Delhi via Air Force cargo flights today and will be distributed to the general public through Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) and District Administration of both Leh and Kargil district.

He said that strict action will be taken against those who violate the NDMA and Epidemic Act issued by the respective District Magistrate.

Media Bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Service of UT Ladakh reads, “The condition of all four positive cases in U.T Ladakh is stable. A special health camp was conducted at PHC Sakti in Kharu block where 52 OPD patients came to PHC and three minor OT procedures and three Gynae minor procedures were done.

Medical mobile team of Drass block visited Pandrass village for awareness/screening for COVID-19. Door to door Flu survey was also being done in all blocks of Leh district.
