154 vehicles seized for wrong parking in Leh

In a special drive against violation of traffic rules, District police, Leh carried out a drive to check the traffic violators in and around Leh on February 8.

The drive was initiated with a view to wrong parking on the roadsides in the main market. During the drive, police seized 154 vehicles for wrong parking in Leh city under Motor Vehicle Act.

District police Leh has been in process and carrying out an overall campaign against traffic violators in and around Leh. 
The drive is against those drivers who use the mobile phone while driving, using tinted glasses on windows and windscreen of vehicles, driving without licence especially commercial, driving without seat belt, crash helmet and rash driving.

They further informed that the drive has been initiated with an aim to use the existing road and spaces in a proper way and streamlining the traffic system.

The District Police Office informed that Sargun Shukla, IPS, SSP, Leh has given particular directions in this regard and the drive shall be carried out to rule out traffic violations with an aim to safeguard passengers, commuters and people in general.
