10-day state level Khadi exhibition concludes in Leh 50-lac sale in the week-long exhibition

\r\n\\r\\nThe 10-days state level Khadi exhibition organized by J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board in collaboration with Khadi & Village Industries Commission concluded at Leh with a valedictory function on September 18. \\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\n\r\n
\r\n\\r\\nThe state-level exhibition recorded about Rs. 50 lacs sale in the weeklong exhibition. Besides, different local Ladakhi units, large number of Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) supported unites coming from Kashmir, Jammu and Kargil also participated in the exhibition.\\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\nVice Chairmen Jammu & Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board ( KVIB) Mansoor Hussain Soharwardy was  chief guest on the occasion while as Executive Councilor for Industries Dorjey Motup, Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat Member North Zone KVIC,   Secretary/ CEO KVIB Raashid Ahmad Qadari and Deputy  Commissioner Leh Avny Lavasa  were guests of honour on the occasion.\\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\nAddressing the valedictory function Vice Chairman, KVIB , Mansoor Hussain Soharwardy said that Leh is a unique place on top of the world which can’t be compared with other places and well cultured and honest people of Ladakh makes this place more exclusive.\\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\nUnderlining the aims and objectives of KVIB which is for handholding of rural youths towards entrepreneurship, Soharwardy said that since govt jobs are limited, and as such, the youths of J&K State must accept this reality and go for entrepreneurship which will not only provide dignified job for individuals but will create ample jobs for others also. \\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\n\r\n
\r\n\\r\\nHe said that at present Rs. 25 lacs is the maximum limit under KVIB schemes to establish various types of units and considering the increasing cost factors GoI is likely to increase this limit up to Rs. 60 lacs soon. \\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\n\r\n
\r\n\\r\\nResponding to the issues and demands of EC Dorjey Motup, Soharwarday assured to release Rs. 50 lacs immediately for construction of office building for KVIB if LAHDC,  Leh will allot land for the same purpose at the earliest. And regarding clearance of back-log cases and increasing the loan targets for Leh district, Soharwarday assured to allot unlimited targets for Ladakh region and appealed youths of Ladakh to avail maximum benefits from the different schemes of KVIB and KVIC. \\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\nEarlier, addressing the function, EC Dorjey Motup raised the issues of KVIB and KVIC functioning in Leh in detail and assured to allot land for construction of KVIB & KVIC office building at Leh to streamline the programmes of this two important institutions. He also requested to increase the loan targets for Leh district to cover more rural unemployed youths into entrepreneurship. \\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\n\r\n
\r\n\\r\\nDr. Hina Shafi Bhat Member North Zone KVIC and Secretary/ CEO KVIB Raashid Ahmad Qadari also addressed the programme and explained in detail about the various loan and subsidy schemes of KVIB and KVIC. They said that the main function of both the institutions is to plan, promote, organise and implement the programmes for the development of Khadi and other village industries in the rural areas in coordination with other agencies. \\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\n\r\n
\r\n\\r\\nEarlier, Vice Chairmen along with other guests made a full round of the stalls and while interacted with the entrepreneurs they encouraged them for further improvements in their products. \\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\nA traditional cultural programme by the artists of CATS group was also presented on the occasion. \\r\\n\r\n

\r\n\\r\\nOther prominent present on the occasion were Assistant Director KVIC Kashmir Division Anil Kumar, GM DIC, Leh Urgain Lundup, district level officers and officers and officials of KVIB and KVIC. \\r\\n\r\n
