Leh :
Passport Seva Camp was organized for three days in Leh and Kargil on 27th August at the Tourist Reception Centre Leh. This camp has been organized to facilitate the submission of passport application by the people of the district in order to save the trip to regional office in Srinagar.

The camp was inaugurated by the Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC-Rigzin Spalbar. District Magistrate, Leh- Saugat Biswas and Joint Secretary (PSP) & Chief Passport Officer- Muktesh K. Pardeshi were present.

Muktesh K. Pardeshi explained the procedure to apply new passport and the renewal of the passports. He further added that the passport seva camp is organized looking at the interest of the people and the limited number of Passport Seva Kendras in the district. Opening of such camps helps the people to apply easily at the same place or else they have to go to the regional office in Srinagar to get their work done. He said Government has approved a small centre in Ladakh, by the time we get space, such passport seva camps will be held.

The next camp is likely to be held during the Ladakh Festival in the month of September.

CEC, LAHDC, urged Chief Passport Officer Muktesh K. Pradeshi to arrange for space in the premises of the Tourist Information Centre building for the on-line submission of forms making it convenient for the general public.

Pardeshi assured CEC for every possible arrangement.
