Ghulam Ahmad Mir inaugurates Kargil Festival 2013

The two day colourful festival of Kargil the ‘Kargil Festival' was inaugurated by J&K Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmed Mir in presence of Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai and J&K Minister of State for Science and Technology Feroz Ahmad Khan at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium Beamathang on 10th October. The festival is being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department Kargil under the supervision of Assistant Director Tourism, Syed Towha Aga.

Various cultural troupes from different parts of Kargil in their finest costumes and jewellery gave warm welcome to Chief Guest Ghulam Ahmad Mir and other dignitaries. Meanwhile various departments of district and others private firms put up stalls on the occasion.

CEC Kargil, Asgar Ali Karbalai in his speech thanked Tourism Minister for his visit to Kargil. He urged Mir to direct all the stakeholders to speed up the work on all projects for early completion and appealed to him to release the funds without delay.
 
Tourism and Culture Minister Ghulam Ahmed Mir in his speech said that Kargil possesses a God gifted natural bounty with amazing panoramic landscape and enchanting rugged mountains with Nature expressing different moods to match each season. He urged the visiting tourists as well as local populace to preserve the nature for sustainable tourism in Kargil. Earlier, Executive Councilor for Tourism LAHDC Kargil, Mr. Wangyal presented welcome speech.

On the Occasion Executive Councilors of LAHDC Kargil, Director Tourism J&K, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Fida Hussain, Senior Superintendent of Police Kargil Sujit Kumar, CJM Kargil, District Officer, Army Officers and large number of local people were also present.

Later the Tourism Minister along with Minister for Sports Feroz Ahmad Khan and other dignitaries went to Zanskar Sub Division to inaugurate the 2nd day of the Kargil Festival 2013 at the headquarter of Zanskar Sub Division, Padum.
