CEC Kargil joins PM Modi in virtual launch of ‘Exploring LoC and Hunderman Village Experience’

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Mohd Jaffer Akhoon participated in the virtual inauguration of the ‘Exploring LoC and Hunderman Village Experience’ as part of Swadesh Darshan 2.0. The event was graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated it from Srinagar on March 7.
Dr.Jaffer expressed gratitude to the Government of India for including Kargil in Swadesh Darshan 2.0. He emphasized the importance of local insights and collaboration with tour and travel operators for the success of such initiatives. He reiterated LAHDC Kargil’s commitment to transforming Kargil into a sustainable tourist destination, focusing on
meaningful experiences. “We are dedicated to unlocking hidden treasures of our region and enhancing tourism potential,” the CEC said.
He also expressed gratitude to GoI, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, and Commissioner Secretary of Tourism, Ladakh for their efforts in spotlighting Kargils tourism potential. Executive Councilor, Tourism, LAHDC, Kargil, Kacho Mohd. Feroz emphasized the department’s commitment to positioning Kargil as a premier tourist destination. He stressed collaborative efforts among various stakeholders including tour operators, taxi drivers, hoteliers, and media to enhance tourism in the region. “We are dedicated to enhancing trekking routes, engaging youth in the tourism sector and for sustainable growth,” EC Tourism said.
Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse informed that a website for the tourism department is under progress. He outlined plans for skill development programs for tourism stakeholders and provided information about projects like the Mushkoo Valley under Swadesh Darshan 2.0.

DC Kargil assured that the projects would be implemented with the confidence and cooperation of LAHDC, Kargil, and other stakeholders, aimed at boosting tourism and economic empowerment in the region. Executive Councillors, Councillors, Civil and Army Officers, as well as tourism stakeholders, were present alongside a large gathering in attendance.
