Leh ranked 100th cleanest city in India, and No.1 in J&K

In the all India city ranking, Leh has achieved 100th rank in India while topping the list in Jammu and Kashmir in the survey of 434 cities, conducted as part of the Modi government's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, or Clean India Mission on May 5.

Leh, Anantnag, Srinagar and Jammu have found 100th, 197th, 241st and 251st place respectively in the latest Swacch Survekshan 2017, rankings released by Government of India in its latest survey of 434 cities across the country.

All cities are weighed upon five variables including waste collection, solid waste management, putting up of toilets, sanitation strategies and behaviour change communication.
