District Level Task Force Committee approves 401 cases under PMEGP

Vikas Kundal, DC approved 401 cases under Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme during District Level Task Force Committee meeting on July 23 at NIC, Kargil.

Convenor DLTFC, GM, DIC informed that under Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), 501 cases were placed.  Out of the approved 401cases, 257 were of KVIC, 47 of KVIB and 97 of DIC.

Vikas Kundal stressed upon the members of the District Level Task Force Committee to aware people about PMEGP so that the maximum unemployed youth of the district avail the benefit. Also, emphasised on bringing transparency while implementing the schemes. The bank authorities were instructed to speed up the process of sanctioning loans so that the necessary EDP training is imparted to the beneficiaries at the earliest.

He also underscored the need for introducing cluster formation for the activities like pottery, carpentry, making of copper utensils, manufacturing of bats and carpet weaving. And stressed upon GM, DIC to prepare detailed project reports in this regard and submit it to the same concerned quarters for accord of necessary action.

Talking about the need of boosting apricot industry in the district, he said, “Apricot has a huge potential  which needs to be given special focus by introducing latest techniques and the need of the hour is to formulate a comprehensive plan in this regard.”

Anil Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director/Nodal Officer PMEGP J&K,  Mohammad Taqi, General Manager DIC, Rajesh Yadav, LDM Kargil and Members of KVIC, KVIB, SC/ST, ITI, BDO Kargil were also present.
