HCHF represented Ladakh at 17th Global Female Folk Dance

Himalayan Cultural Heritage Foundation (HCHF), represented Ladakh in the recently held 17th Global Female Folk Dance Festival at auspicious Kullu Dussehra Festival, Himachal Pradesh, which was held  from October 3th to 9th. Female artists from different parts of India and various other countries took part in the festival. The New Indian Express has reported that the district administration has planned to organise folk dance competition with the participation from more than 5,000 women in their traditional attire was likely to claim record in Limca Book of records.

HCHF was represented by artists from “Lokhel Diskit Group”, Sumoor, Nubra. While showcasing the rich culture of Ladakh, the artists performed two folk dances during the festival including the famous “Mentok Ltatmo” of Nubra. The Global Female Folk Dance Festival was organized by Charu Castle Foundation in association with District Administration Kullu, Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Dr Sonam Wangchok, Secretary HCHF has participated in the cultural seminar organized during the festival under the chairmanship of the hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Himachal university. The organizer appreciated the participants and presented medals, certificates and mementoes.

Later, HCHF leh organized an excursion tour for the artist from Ladakh to Shimla, Riwalsar and Lahoul.
