Mohammad Hanifa Jan, Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh, on April 25 flagged off four school buses at the Council Secretariat Kargil under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

The buses have been procured to strengthen transportation facilities for various government schools and SKUAST-Kashmir, Kargil, ensuring improved accessibility and convenience for students. Of the four buses, three were sanctioned during the 17th Lok Sabha tenure, while one has been procured under the 18th Lok Sabha period.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by Aga Syed Mujtaba, Shabbir Hussain, Councillors Feroz Khan and Mohd Amin, Chief Education Officer Sonam Wangchuk, and Fazian, along with other officials.

The initiative under MPLADS reflects continued efforts to strengthen educational support systems and ensure that students, particularly in remote areas, have access to safe and reliable transportation
