State Govt. clears over 400 crore urban renewal project proposal for Leh

The state level sanctioning committee for the Housing and Urban Development Ministry has cleared a detail report project involving financial implication of four hundred crore and fourteen lakh rupees for the Leh district. |

Centre grants over 24 crore canal projects for Leh and Kargil
Tuesday, March 16, 2010 :
MLC, Leh Nurboo Gailcahan has said that Centre has approved construction of eleven medium irrigational canals for Leh and Kargil districts under central grant involving financial implication over twenty four crore in the Accelerated Irrigational Benefit Program. He further said that these irrigational canals include six for Leh district and five for Kargil district. |

Mohd. Iqbal - disabled from Leh gets Real Hero Award

A Ladakhi physically challenged rights activist Mohd Iqbal has won the 2009 Real Hero award of CNN IBN in the health and disability category for his inspirational works for physical challenged people by advocating for the implementation of the Person with disability act in Leh district. The award has been announced in Mumbai on Wednesday and carries cash award of three and half lakh rupees. |
