Chief Secretary reviews implementation of Vibrant Village Programme in Ladakh
Chief Secretary, Union Territory of Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, chaired a meeting on January 20 to review the implementation and progress of the Vibrant Village Programme (VVP) across the region.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner, Leh and Nodal Officer for VVP, Romil Singh Donk, gave a detailed presentation on the programme’s components, focus areas, targeted outcomes, and the infrastructure profile of villages covered under the initiative.
The Chief Secretary conducted a comprehensive review of the projects proposed and submitted under the VVP, along with the status of works approved so far. He directed the concerned Block Development Officers (BDOs) to carry out a thorough assessment of infrastructure in the identified villages to ensure accurate ground-level evaluation and effective project implementation.
Ashish Kundra also reviewed health sector projects approved under convergence with the National Health Mission (NHM) and assessed the progress of education-related initiatives being implemented under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.
The construction of Craft Centres for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the programme was also discussed. The Chief Secretary emphasised the need to ensure their proper functionality and optimal utilisation to support livelihood generation and economic empowerment at the grassroots level.
Stressing the importance of inter-departmental coordination, the Chief Secretary called for timely execution of approved works and outcome-oriented implementation to achieve the objectives of the Vibrant Village Programme and enhance the quality of life in border villages.
