LAHDC Chairman reviews tourism concerns, calls for timely ITB Berlin preparations

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, convened a meeting with representatives of the All Ladakh Hotel & Guest House Association (ALHGHA) and the All Ladakh Tour Operators Association (ALTOA) on August 19 to discuss challenges facing Ladakh’s tourism sector and preparations for participation in ITB Berlin 2026.
The meeting was attended by CPO Leh, Tsewang Gailson; ADT Leh, Padma Angmo; ALHGHA President, Rigzin Wangmo Lachic; ALTOA President, Tsewang Dorje; their executive members; and Abhijeet Singh from Ernst & Young, Tourism Department.
Participants underscored Ladakh’s presence at ITB Berlin as a crucial opportunity to showcase the region, strengthen networks, and attract international visitors. The discussions also covered ALTOA’s follow-up on the Ladakh Mountaineering Foundation (LMF) and ALHGHA’s request for UTLBC loan restructuring to provide relief to financially stressed tourism stakeholders.
The associations expressed gratitude to the CEC for sanctioning funds to support tourism revival.
CEC Gyalson directed all tourism stakeholders to promptly verify pavilion registration details, provide timely feedback on the draft RFP for vendor selection, and ensure completion of the registration and onboarding process without delay.
