A friendly polo match between SECMOL and the Ladakh Women Polo Association was held on July 19 at Polo Ground, Shagaran, Chuchot, Leh, as part of the 4th CEC Cup Polo Tournament 2025.

The match celebrated Ladakh’s rich polo heritage while promoting youth involvement and greater women’s participation in traditional sports.

Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Administrative Secretary, Education, UT Ladakh, graced the event as Chief Guest. Mirza Hussain, Councillor, Chuchot, attended as the Guest of Honour.

The event began with a colourful cultural programme featuring traditional Ladakhi music and dance performances that delighted the crowd and created a festive atmosphere.

In a lively and competitive match, SECMOL defeated the Ladakh Women Polo Association with a final score of 5–1. The spirited performance by both teams drew enthusiastic cheers from the large audience, which included local residents and international tourists.

Distinguished guests in attendance included Tsering Tashi, DYSSO Leh; Nasreen Maryam, President of Anjuman Imamia Women Wing; Kunzes Dolma, President of Ladakh Buddhist Association Women Wing; and Aisha Malo, President of the Women Wing of Anjuman-e-Moin-ul-Islam (AMI), Leh.

The event highlighted Ladakh’s efforts to preserve traditional sports while promoting inclusivity and community engagement.
