Youth entrepreneurship awareness programme concludes at GDC Khaltse

The three-day Youth Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme, organised by Enterprising Ladakh at Government Degree College (GDC) Khaltse, concluded successfully with active participation from students and women self-help groups of the region.
On the final day, Enterprising Ladakh’s Project Officer, Madam Fariya, delivered an engaging presentation on innovative packaging techniques, followed by a brainstorming session with local SHGs to explore entrepreneurial opportunities.
After lunch, students took part in a business idea competition, presenting creative concepts for Ladakh’s future. Sonam Yangdol (5th semester) won first prize in the quiz competition and delivered a presentation titled “Blooming Horizon: Ladakh’s Glow-Based Beauty Revolution.” Rigzin Dorjey (3rd semester) secured second place with his proposal on Eco-Friendly Trekking in the Hanu region of Ladakh.
As part of the programme, Madam Fariya presented mementoes to Dr. Samina Iqbal, Principal of GDC Khaltse, and Stanzin Stamdin, the college’s Nodal Officer for Enterprising Ladakh, in recognition of their support in hosting the event.
Representatives from J&K Bank, led by Paldan, briefed participants on loan schemes and financial assistance available in manufacturing, trading, and the MSME sectors. They encouraged youth and SHG members to avail these opportunities to transform their business ideas into reality.
The three-day event underscored the potential of Ladakh’s youth and local communities in building sustainable, innovative enterprises, particularly in agriculture, tourism, and local product development.
