Market checking squad imposes ₹22,300 fine on defaulters in Khaltse

A two-day surprise inspection was conducted on July 30 and 31 in the Khaltse market by a market checking squad targeting general stores, restaurants/hotels, vegetable vendors, and poultry sellers.

The inspection team was led by Naib Tehsildar Khaltse, Asgar Ali, and included Tehsil Supply Officer (FCS\&CA), Afzal Khan; SHO Khaltse, Jamyang Namgail; Assistant Sub-Inspectors Mohd Hussain and Phuntsog Rigzin; BHW Tsewang Namgial; GQ Gourmet Stanzin; Storekeepers Tsering Dorjay and Kifayat Hussain; and officials from the FCS\&CA Department, Khaltse. Additionally, Head Constables Mohd Abdullah and Tahir Ali were deployed by the SHO Khaltse to assist with the operation.

The team identified several violations, including the sale of expired products and the illegal use of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes in hotels and restaurants. The inspection also covered the verification of rate lists, food quality, hygiene standards, and mandatory documentation. Expired items were seized and destroyed on the spot.

A total fine of ₹22,300 was imposed on the violators.
