LG Kavinder Gupta briefs PM Modi on ground realities, seeks support for key sectors

Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on August 2 to apprise him of the overall situation in the Union Territory of Ladakh.

During the meeting, the Lt. Governor briefed the Prime Minister on the ground realities, key challenges, and the aspirations of the people of Ladakh. He highlighted the region’s pressing needs in areas such as development, connectivity, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities. Emphasis was also laid on Ladakh’s vast potential in tourism, particularly eco-tourism, adventure sports, and cultural heritage-based experiences.

Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed the Government of India’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development in Ladakh. He underscored the importance of ensuring that the benefits of governance and welfare schemes reach even the most remote villages in the UT.

Lt. Governor Gupta assured the Prime Minister that the Ladakh Administration is fully aligned with this vision. He expressed his commitment to accelerating ongoing development projects, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting local entrepreneurship to realize Ladakh’s full potential.
