L-G Kavinder Gupta meets Amit Shah, discusses development priorities for Ladakh

Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on August 2 to discuss key developmental priorities concerning the Union Territory of Ladakh.

During the meeting, the Lt. Governor briefed the Home Minister on the current administrative framework, progress in border area development, and the urgent need to improve telecommunication connectivity in remote parts of the region. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening infrastructure to boost local livelihoods, especially in sectors such as agriculture, handicrafts, and winter tourism.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed the Central Government’s commitment to enhancing border infrastructure and improving the overall quality of life in Ladakh. He stressed the importance of maintaining peace and harmony in the region while advancing a development-focused agenda.

Lt. Governor Gupta assured full cooperation with the Ministry of Home Affairs to facilitate rapid and inclusive growth, while preserving Ladakh’s unique cultural heritage and fragile ecological landscape.
