Deputy Commissioner (DC) Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, chaired a comprehensive review meeting on May 1 to assess the implementation and saturation levels of key welfare schemes, including Ayushman Bharat (Golden Card), Unique Disability ID (UDID), NFSA Ration Cards, Aadhaar enrolment, and the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE).

Officials from concerned departments delivered detailed presentations outlining the registration processes and current data status for each initiative.

DC Leh emphasized the urgent need to streamline Aadhaar enrolment for students, noting its critical role in facilitating access to various schemes, especially the Ayushman Bharat health insurance program. He directed the departments to ensure complete coverage of all eligible individuals, particularly students and their families.

He also stressed the importance of linking Aadhaar and ration cards to the Ayushman Bharat Golden Card, and instructed departments to prepare and circulate awareness videos in the local language to ensure better outreach and understanding of the scheme.

To accelerate Aadhaar coverage among schoolchildren, the Chief Education Officer was directed to identify 20 schools with the lowest coverage and initiate registration camps. Departments were also asked to submit block-wise physical data on cardholders and beneficiaries.

Reiterating the administration’s commitment, DC Sukhadeve underlined the goal of achieving 100% saturation of all eligible persons under each welfare scheme to ensure no one is left behind.
