CAT Jammu bench holds circuit sitting in Leh, hears 18 cases

The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Jammu Bench conducted a circuit sitting at the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centre, Melongthang, Leh on June 14, with the aim of ensuring accessible and efficient justice delivery for the residents of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The session was presided over by Member (Judicial) Rajender Singh Dogra and Member (Administrative) Ram Mohan Johri, and witnessed the presence of Shashi Kant Bhagat, (A) Secretary, Department of Law and Justice, UT Ladakh, along with members of the legal fraternity and senior officials.
In his welcome remarks, the (A) Secretary expressed sincere gratitude to the CAT Members for holding the sitting in Leh, stating that such initiatives reaffirm the public’s trust in the justice system and bring legal remedies closer to citizens in remote areas.
During the sitting, the circuit bench heard 18 service-related cases at the ADR Centre. The proceedings were conducted with professionalism, fairness, and efficiency, reflecting the Tribunal’s commitment to timely justice.
Law Officers and officials from various government departments were also present to assist the Senior Central Government Counsel, ensuring coordinated efforts for the resolution of grievances.
The circuit sitting marks another step towards strengthening the legal framework in Ladakh and enhancing public access to judicial mechanisms for administrative matters.
